Add Rogaine to stabilze hair loss along hairline. Propecia requires 3 months before any hair starts to grow. Propecia will not cause permanent hair loss. I would discuss problem with prescribing physician to determine if there is a component of alopecia areata.

Thank you for your clinical post. This is a common phenomenon. The initiation of Propecia can often lead to
enhanced shedding. It takes up to 3-6
months for Propecia effect to work. I
generally suggest multi-modal therapy consisting of topical nutrient serums,
PRP and estrogen injections as well as low-level light therapy than Minoxidil. These therapeutic interventions are safe and
stabilize hair growth by a variety of mechanisms allowing the Propecia effect
to take hold.

I would suggest you see your hair
restoration physician to discuss these options and be reassured that Propecia
is generally not associated with permanent loss.

I know it can be distressful, but
generally stick with the program, add additional elements to your therapy and
you should see satisfactory long-term results.

propecia and rogaine are the only FDA approves products for hair loss. They both have side effects and that's why before using we always recommend that you review the side effects. With both, you may experience increase hair loss initially but if it continues you need to get doctors advise and discontinue the products.
