Thinking about going in for mesothearpy for my double chin. I am 21 and have been self conscious about this since I was 13.

First let me say that fat dissolving mesotherapy injectable products are not yet commercially available in the U.S. and as a result of increasingly stringent regulatory restraints on compounding pharmacies that were involved in preparing sterile injectables in the U.S. over the past couple of years, it is very difficult to obtain these. The good news is that an FDA-approved fat dissolving injectable (which is approved for use for submental, i.e. under the chin, or double chin fat) will soon be available.  A second product, currently in its late testing phases and chemically distinct from the other soon-to-be marketed agent, will likely also merit FDA approval and will probably be on the market in another two to three years in the States.In my Israel satellite facility however, I have had access to regulatory agency sanctioned compounded products for fat dissolution and have used them for several years and continue to do so successfully for shrinking fat deposits under the chin (as well as in the abdomen and love handles regions).

Mesotherapy is an umbrella term for a lot of treatments. For double chin, it may be reduced by dissolving fat with Kybella or CoolSculpting. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
