I am 74 years old and have quite a bit of receding gums. I get my teeth cleaned every six months, and this has never been mentioned before. This time the dentist recommended covering the receding area with porcelain veneers. He said it was a simple procedure, no need to anesthetize the teeth, and I understood that the gum area would just be filled in and smoothed out. But now researching this online, I am no longer sure as to what the procedure will be. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you.
