I chipped my left front tooth (bottom 1/3 of it) when I was a kid. I’m now in my 30s. It was bonded and has been re-bonded a handful of times. Most recently part of the bonding chipped off 2 years ago and a few months later a corner of the bonding chipped again. I think the bonding was put over my entire tooth on the front the last time. Now my dentist is recommending a crown over a veneer. Why? Is it because I might not have enough tooth structure left from all the times of bonding?

I am happy you are worried about your natural tooth. The best option is post and core. If it fails in the future, You have a choice of an implant at that time. Always take implants as a last option, because there is no option after that.
