Insecure about puffy nipples. How can I get rid of them?

About a 2 years ago I began getting little balls in my nipples, they grew over time and got big and eventually went back down and disappeared, and I am now left with big puffy nipples. I am not fat, I am 150 lbs and 6'1. How can I get rid of them? They show through my shirt at times which is embarrassing as well. I am 16 years old

Hello,Pardon my guess but if you are a male, then you could be describing something commonly known as Gynecomastia. With changes in hormonal levels during the teen years many boys experience this. The appearance that you see now may continue to change or resolve on it's own.  There are a variety of presentations and some men can have significant breast growth as well. Gynecomastia surgery, is a surgical procedure designed to eliminate excess skin, fat and/or glandular tissue in the chest. It can also reduce puffiness of the nipples and areolae. I recommend that you book a consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss options. They may need to determine that you have stopped growing and consider that this may resolve somewhat on it's own, before planning surgical intervention.All the best

I appreciate your question.As your breasts grow, so do the nipples and areolas.
