Zirconia vs Porcelain?

Hello, I had a zirconia crown placed a few days ago, but when my dentist was working on my bite he filed it too low and a piece came off...there is also a hole in the top. Another is being ordered, but wondering if I should get the porcelain crown instead. I cannot stand the smooth, slippery feeling of the zirconia. Driving me nuts. Will it lessen? It also looks shinier than my porcelain crowns. Should I switch to porcelain?

The polishing process of zirconia will make you feel natural as if it's as smooth as your own teeth. Metal fused porcelain has two layers. One is metal inside and porcelain is oversideThis two layers increases thickness especially in areas with insufficient space. When the heightness is corrected by dentist, crown is mostly grinded until metal and even metal can be punctured. So, zirconia overcomes this problem because it's a monolayer material.

First of all, it’s important to know where the crown is being placed. If it’s in the back (molars), I recommend Zirconia, which is more resistant and less aesthetic. If the crown is being placed up front, I recommend lithium disilicate porcelain, which is more aesthetic.
