Temporary plastic veneer chipped off (Photo)

Question

I recently had some temp veneer ( composite plastic) fitted whilst waiting for the porcelain individuals to be made. Today when eating, my veneer cracked off . It was caused by the veneer catching my bottom tooth whilst chewing ( in my natural state) Would this outline potential problems for my new porcelian ones in terms of lenght for my mouth? I feel the proposed veneers are too long? Can the veneers be trimmed down to eliminate this? They are being made by DSD ( digital smile design)

Hi:This may or may not be a problem since the temporaries are made out of acrylic and are subject to fracture easily.  However, if while you are speaking you feel your upper and lower teeth are contacting, then the upper teeth are too long and it needs to be adjusted to avoid fracture.Best,Dr. Maddahi

In my opinion, your temps look too big. Your teeth should look virtually the same as before except the spaces are closed. Right now you look too "toothy" You should tell your dentist your concerns prior to making the veneers.
