Answer: Managing Post-Filler Complications: Addressing Lumps and Nodules in Dermal Fillers It sounds like you're experiencing a common concern with dermal fillers, where a lump can form at the site of injection. Here are some insights and suggestions for managing this issue: 1. Understanding the Lump Formation: Lumps or nodules can sometimes form after filler injections due to various reasons, including improper placement, the type of filler used, or the body's reaction to the filler material. 2. Potential Causes: Product Characteristics: Some fillers are more prone to forming lumps due to their consistency. Injection Technique: The technique used during the injection could contribute to uneven distribution. Body's Reaction: Occasionally, the body may form a capsule around the filler, leading to lump formation. 3. Management Options: Consultation: Schedule a consultation with your injector or a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to evaluate the lump. Massage: Sometimes gentle massage can help smooth out minor lumps, but this should be done under professional guidance. Hyaluronidase: If the filler used is hyaluronic acid-based, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the filler. Observation: If the lump is not causing discomfort or aesthetic concern, monitoring it over time might be an option as some lumps resolve on their own. 4. Emotional Impact: It's understandable to feel upset about this outcome. Discuss your concerns openly with your healthcare provider to find a solution that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of the issue. 5. Prevention in the Future: Ensure that future treatments are performed by an experienced practitioner who can tailor the approach to your unique facial structure and needs. It's important to address this issue with your healthcare provider to explore the best course of action for your situation. They can provide personalized advice and treatment options to help resolve the lump effectively.

Answer: Treating Unwanted Nodules & Lumps After Injectable Fillers or Collagen Stimulator Treatments Lumps, unwanted skin firmness, and nodules can occur following treatments, particularly following the use of permanent fillers and collagen stimulator products, such as Aspella. This can occur even months to years following the treatment. I have had gratifying results in treating this type of problem in patients who have come to me having been treated in the past with silicone, Bellafill, Sculptra and Radiesse using varying combinations, concentrations and amounts of intralesional anti-inflammatory agents. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert. Hope this helps and best of luck.
