I did not wear a retainer for a few yrs. I have noticed the spacing in my teeth are starting to show. I went to my dentist and got the buttons back on.However, the aligner she said for me to wear, I could pop it out with my tongue. As I remember, the aligners should be tight for the first few days. So I felt it was not working. So last week I started wearing aligner 5 and felt the tension. Was I wrong with wearing an old aligner and the spacing between my teeth and the aligners, is that ok?

It would not be recommended for you to wear an old aligner that was not prescribed by your dentist. Just because it feels tight it doesn’t mean that it is moving your teeth or moving them in the right direction. You might cause more damage by doing so. If you feel that the aligner the dentist gave you is not doing the job you should bring all of them to the dentist with you and have them determine which one you should be wearing.

Don't jump around on your aligners as each number is designed to do different things in a set order.  It is always best to check with your invisalign dentist if you are having a problem.
