How Long Should I Wear the Compression Garment After Smart Lipo?

Smart Lipo is a laser assisted liposuction technology.  Although not necessary, I think there may be some assistance in gaining a smoother result with a garment.  This is my opinion and not supported by any objective studies.

Most liposuction surgeons recommend the wearing of compression garments to their patients for several weeks after the surgery. It can be removed during showering and then reapplied. It may lessen bruising and may make you feel more comfortable, although some patients feel bothered by the garment.

Although a compression garment needs to be worn for 4 weeks after traditional liposuction, a mere two weeks is sufficient to achieve excellent results.

Compressions garments are not necessary after smartlipo. Cosmetic surgeons in many countries do not use compression garments, Some may use cotton elastic fabrics to keep the tissue warm. Still others use older type girdle like garments.
