Is it okay to wear aligners for 13 days instead of 14?

Question

Hi I'm a college student with the invisalign express 10. I am on aligner 6/10. However, my orthodontist is back home and I'm more than a few hours away at college- it's very difficult to get back home to visit my orthodontist. That being said, my final aligner is supposed to come off 4 days after my winter vacation ends. So, I'm just wondering if it would be okay to wear aligners 7-10 for 13 days instead of 14 so that I can be done and have the attachments removed before my school vacation ends.

Of course you can speed it up, but you should definitely get clearance from your doctor.  Invisalign Express is already a faster version of Invisalign and speeding it up more can be detrimental in some cases, causing prolonged refinements after the Express is over.  If you were my patient, I'd review your ClinCheck and likely allow you to advance your treatment, but each case is different, so please check with your dentist first. You should run this question by the orthodontist that is treating you. It probably would not make a difference, but YOUR doctor is the one who has to stand behind his treatment. If you go against his advice and then are unhappy with the results, he probably will not be able to help you without additional expense.
