How can I improve chin fullness and projection? (Photos)

I don’t k is what to do to help my chin. lately I’ve noticed my chin looks almost likw It’s sinking in and I have horrible chin shadowing and just no projection or fullness in my chin at all. I’ve had filler and chin shadowing filler but it did noting. I’m not sure what else I can do it really bothers me.

Frankly, I am a bit puzzled. At least from the photos provided, it would appear that the use of a robust HA volumzing filler would be an easy fix for the kind of aesthetic issue seen in the photos. Possible reasons for your prior lack of success with fillers may be that a robust HA volumizing filler was not used and/or an insufficient quantity of the filler was injected to achieve the desired projection; or simply that the injector was inexperienced in filler treatment of the chin. Before jumping to the expense and surgery involved with surgical chin implants, it would be wise to make sure to consult an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler injection expert. When filler doesn't produce the desired result, it often means that the issue isn't simply a lack of volume. Chin contour is influenced by several factors, including your underlying bone structure, soft tissue, muscle activity, and the way light creates shadows across the lower face.

If your chin is truly under-projected, adding more filler may not be the answer, particularly if enough volume has already been placed. In some cases, additional filler can make the chin appear wider or heavier without improving projection. A chin implant or sliding genioplasty may provide a more noticeable and long-lasting improvement for someone with significant skeletal retrusion.

On the other hand, if the "shadow" you're seeing is related to the pre-jowl sulcus, skin laxity, or early volume loss along the jawline, treatment may need to extend beyond the chin itself. Carefully placed filler along the jawline or in the prejowl area can sometimes create a smoother transition and reduce shadowing more effectively than placing filler directly into the chin.

It's also worth considering whether your previous filler has fully dissolved or if it was placed in a way that didn't address the true source of the concern. In some situations, imaging with ultrasound can help determine whether residual filler is still present before deciding on additional treatment.

Based on your description, I would recommend looking at the lower face as a whole rather than focusing solely on the chin. The best treatment often comes from identifying whether the concern is due to bone structure, soft tissue volume loss, or skin changes. Once that is determined, it's much easier to choose the option that will provide a natural, balanced improvement.
