I had extreme hot pain at the bone and around the teeth line and I'm trying to figure out if its because of my dental work. Also, looking to see what I could do to mitigate. I believe the temperature was set at 40 degrees.
Answer: Any discomfort from TempSure Envi is primarily related to technique. I personally perform TempSure Envi treatments for skin rejuvenation of the face. I have also had TempSure Envi performed on my face by my staff. I find that any discomfort occurs mainly due to the operator/technician being distracted, trying to do two things at the same time or talking to someone else in the room and that sort of thing. For example if the operator holds the device while it is "on" in one place instead of continuously moving it while reaching to get some additional gel (needed to help the device glide smoothly and transmit the RF signal through the skin), then a "hot spot" could develop. I have also found that a more gradual increase in temperature is better tolerated than a quick increase. For example, I will set the device at 40 degrees and once that temperature is reached, then I will increase the temp to 42 degrees (the goal temperature for maximum benefit for most people). Then when I treat the other side of the face, I will reset the temperature back to 40 and build up to 42 instead of going right to 42. So it's not really the temperature that matters, it's more important how quickly or slowly that temperature is reached. The other technique that is helpful is to warm up one portion of the area being treated to 40, then warm up another section to 40, then go back to the 1st section and warm that up to 42, and so on. This is helpful when treating the upper eyelid, then the crow's feet area, then the lower eyelid area. If any "hot spots" develop, which I found occurred most often in the center of the cheek area or hairline area where the skin is not as thick, then the operator should stay away from these areas for a short period of time or move much more quickly over these areas. Any discomfort from TempSure is very short in duration. As soon as the device is moved off that area of skin, the pain goes away. From my personal experience (and my patients) I can assure you that there is no persistent pain from the treatment. You will probably not even remember that any discomfort occurred at all. With TempSure Envi, it is crucial that you and your technician/operator are communicating throughout the procedure. The device provides real-time feedback on skin temperature which is extremely helpful. However, feedback from the patient is needed to inform the technician how it actually feels to the patient.

Answer: Pain - Not necessary to endure Yes, I personally had pain in the Jaw area with the treatment. The beauty of Tempsure, is that it should not be painful, and you can go back to your normal life immediately after the procedure. The pain is caused by a hot spot. It could be the technique being used, or more likely, your pain threshold. In that case, the temperature, and the power, has to be decreased. It may take a little longer to get to the necessary temperature with a lower power setting, so ask your provider to adjust it next time.

Answer: Pain during TempSure treatment I have not personally observed anyone complaining of pain around the teeth or mouth, but it might be mitigated by reducing the power level and/or lowering the temperature in that zone. Also, if the speed of treatment in that area is reduced, some discomfort might be encountered.
