How Long Does a Fungal Infection Last in a Belly Button After a Tummy Tuck? (photo)

My belly button has been leaking fluid for some time. It got worse and later, I woke up to flu like symptoms with a fever of 103.4. My doc drained 50 cc from my side that was really swollen (sent to the lab to get tested), and he said that now I have a fungal infection. He gave me antibiotics Ciprofloxacin, Sulfameth/Trimethoprim and Ketoconzole 2% cream to apply to my bellybutton. I have to say, I am really scared, feel terrible, in pain, hoping my fever breaks and really hoping this works.

Actually some of the thinning and indentation from Kenalog can be permanent and most will use it with caution. Probably is time to stop.

This should not usually be a problem as the bleeding is only slight with no infection. This can happen with any dressings and any skin sutures, so there should be no reason to worry, but if you continue to worry about the bleeding on your abdominal area around your belly button then do not...

To be bloated after the tummy tuck is normal.  People get the bloated feeling especially after eating.  It is a better idea to eat more frequent and smaller meals after the abdominoplasty.  Discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.
