My belly button has been leaking fluid for some time. It got worse and later, I woke up to flu like symptoms with a fever of 103.4. My doc drained 50 cc from my side that was really swollen (sent to the lab to get tested), and he said that now I have a fungal infection. He gave me antibiotics Ciprofloxacin, Sulfameth/Trimethoprim and Ketoconzole 2% cream to apply to my bellybutton. I have to say, I am really scared, feel terrible, in pain, hoping my fever breaks and really hoping this works.

If indeed you have a fungal infection and a high fever, I would be sending you to the hospital for admission and for a consultation with an infectious disease specialist. You may need more than just antibiotics by mouth. Check with your surgeon, and with your primary physician now.

IT appears that you have an infection around the belly button and if you are experiencing fevers and feel unwell than you should contact your surgeon and have a review as you may require different antibiotics or intravenous antibiotics. If there is a lot of fluid or pus leaking from the wound then it may even be required to be opened and washed out.
