Should I stop taking Accutane if I am experiencing stomach problems?

I have been taking 20mg of accutane daily for about 50 days. Everything was fine but I just started having serious gas, nausea and constipation. I read somewhere that these symptoms could lead to chrons disease or IBD and I’m freaking out! But I really don’t want to stop. So I’m wondering if I should stop or not?

Thank you for your question.  It is very unlikely the accutane is causing your abdominal discomfort, but you should call your prescribing dermatologist and speak to them about it.  I would have my patients take a break from the accutane and see if the discomfort improves.  Hope you feel better soon!
