Does a VI Peel Require the Use of Hydroquinone for the Procedure on People of Color?

Question

Does a VI peel require the use of hydroquinone before the procedure on people of color? Also, if hydroquinone makes my skin red but doesnt cause any irritation, is that bad and should i stop using it? Should i trust a med spa for this procedure? Any recommendations for south Florida?

Vipeel chemical peels can cause post treatment redness, itching, 
dryness, and ironically, hyperpigmentation. Early post-peel care is 
vital. I would use a curated combination of Covalent peels, fractional 
laser, and topical creams to treat the skin after a Vipeel. Start with 
Elevase to help with dryness of the skin. Melarase creams are ideal to 
combat pigmentation.

The Vi Peel is an excellent peel for ethnic skin and does not typically require the use of hydroquinone prior. If that what the person performing your peel advised, however, it's best to follow instructions. If you do not want to use hydroquione prior, or you have allergies or irriation from this medication, find someone who is comfortable performing the peel without this step.
