Does having jaw implants present a danger in the case of a high-impact injury (such as a car accident, getting punched)?

Chin implants and other implants along the upper and lower jaw are used very commonly and in many thousands of cases, have been shown to be stable and safe. The implants don't intrinsically make the facial bones weaker and the probability of someone having severe blunt trauma to the face is rare. An argument could be made that the implants could have a protective effect on the bones at the time of trauma and are usually then easy to remove.

It is exactly the opposite....a jaw implant provides protection to the jawline like a bumper on a car. It is adding a shatterproof layer n top of bone that can break.
