I don't recommend doing peels yourself, due to the risk of complications. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and treatment. These spots can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thanks for your question and photos. Hopefully by now you have healed fully and are under the care of a dermatologist who is helping you with your acne scars. If you think about it, the scars are not superficial, so peeling them with home acids of any kind can definitely burn the surface and not have any effect on the deeper scars, and may very well make the whole problem worse. Your dermatologist will help you find a combination of microneedling and possibly laser such as CO2 or erbium to get to the deeper scarring and have much less risk of surface burns, which can also result in pigment changes that can be permanent.
