There can be severe complications from VY plasties of the lip including deformity, scarring, and numbness. I prefer using fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO Nova threads can also be used to improve shape and also provide lift. Your photos don't show teeth, so hard to understand relationship, but if as you say vertical distance between nose and upper lip is long and in repose (at rest) with lips gently parted the upper teeth don't show, AND if gently lifting the upper lip shows a few millimeters of teeth, then DON'T do an upper lip V to Y, this will exacerbate the problem.  An upper lip lift is the procedure that will reverse the deleterious impact that filler had on your upper lip position (even though it may have improved lip volume and shape).
