Seven years ago I was injected with an unknown filler. We were told it could be dissolved with another injection but when my mother attempted to remove hers it did not work. I am looking to have this surgically removed but would like to know what are your thoughts.

Answer: Knowing The Filler Used Important For Dealing With Complications
In my LA office, we use Hylenex to help reduce the unwanted filler migration. The process takes minutes to perform and is quite effective.

There are techniques that can optimize Hyaluronidase injections and the hollowness may be a result of the migrated filler or bolus injections of the enzyme. Time to resolve the issue with some light fillers.

The best way to treat volume loss after Hyaluronidase treatment is with the use of fat grafting. Fat grafting should produce natural and permanent results as long as the procedure is done by a a plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in fat grafting techniques.
