The temporary veneers generally should be close to the same shape, alignment, and length of the final goal result. The patient and the aesthetic dentist should spend time discussing any contour changes they would like to make to the temp veneers to give clear expectations. If the temp veneers just need minor changes, then usually these changes can be communicated in the fabrication of the permanent veneers. However, if the temps are significantly different than what the doctor or patient are hoping for, then new temps should be made and evaluated. The color and translucency is a different story though. The temp veneers are a different material than the permanents. This means that the temps never look as natural as the final result because they are usually very opaque, monochromatic, and lack the natural translucency the permanents will have. Thus, in terms of the color, the permanents will blend much more naturally with your smile.

It appears that some improvements in your temporary veneers could be made. Your dentist will probably be checking you in a day or two, and that is your opportunity to have him improve or remake your temporary veneers. This is also a time to discuss the color of your new veneers, length, shape, etc. You were probably numb when he finished and weren't biting correctly then. When you go back he will adjust your bite as necessary.Extremely natural temporaries are difficult and an art form in itself. Many dentists take years of training and experience until they master beautiful temporaries.
