Can a fixed frontal dental bridge be made smaller and made less thick while the bridge is in my mouth?

The dentist said that he could do the work without taking the bridge out of my mouth. It is the permanent bridge. Please tell me if he can to this work. The teeth are to long and it interferes with my speech. And the teeth are to thick they rest on the inside of my upper lip.

it is possible to do some minor adjustments.  taking away from the length is relatively simple.   But romoving larger amounts of porcelain from the front of bridge is not recommended as it will remove the glaze from the lab.

Hi There!  Yes, we dentists can work on a bridge that is in the mouth.  We can make that bridge less bulky, shorter and thinner.  We can always take porcelain away on a bridge, crown or veneer that is cemented and in place in the mouth.  Now that is technically the answer to your question.  It can be done.Do we do it?  Very seldom.  Why not?  Reshaping (drilling) on the porcelain can cause micro-fractures and weaken the porcelain, leave the surface unpolishable, thin the porcelain so it is no longer life like and change the overall appearance of the surface texture. Please ask your dentist about these things before you undergo the re-shaping.
