My nose is crooked, 14 year old girl. What should I do? When should I go under a surgery?

Though you can begin to contemplate whether or not you think you would benefit from a nose job, you should definitely wait at least another 3 years before committing to the surgery. At 14, it is very likely that your body has not reached its full mental and physical maturity. It is highly advisable that you do not undergo a nose job surgery at this tender age, even if you find a surgeon who is willing to perform the operation. When the time comes, and if the crookedness of your nose is still a concern for you, you can consult board certified plastic surgeons in your city to get a better understanding of what the surgery entails and what you can expect from a nose job tailored to you.

I feel your pain, I had a big Greek nose that I had fixed at age 14. It is a time when we start to look critically at ourselves. Having my nose fixed changed my life (for the better) and why I fix noses now! That being said, I think 14 is about the youngest age I would consider a patient for rhinoplasty. If you have gone through puberty and have had your growth spurt, you are probably a good candidate for surgery now. Make sure your doctor addresses not only the appearance, but also any breathing problems you may have developed after the injury.Of course, don't' have your nose fixed until you are finished playing sports, since you don't want to break your nose again, if at all possible!I have no idea the cost of surgery in Mongolia, but I'm sure your Mom can find out from her colleagues. Rhinoplasty

nose has reached its mature growth, which can happen around age 15 – 16 in
girls, and 17 – 18 for boys. At 14, your face is still going to change quite a
bit over the next few years, so waiting a bit longer is a good idea for right
now. There’s no harm in consulting with a rhinoplasty specialist to see if he
or she has more specific recommendations based on a physical evaluation.

Hello Brokennose924, Thank you for the question.  I am sorry to hear about your injury. Your mother raises a valid point in that waiting would possibly serve you better. The fact is that you are still growing and the shape of your nose will continue to change and for most females that can vary anywhere from 15-21 years of age.  I think consulting with a facial plastic surgeon once you feel that you have gone threw your "growth spurt" would be reasonable.  Cost is dependent on the surgeon and extent of work that needs to be done on the nose.Best of luck, DrS
