I would like to do BBL and breast augmentation this summer but worried about sweating in the garment whilst moving around ie going for walks in the sunshine, my hot home, etc, and if this could cause infection post-surgery to incisions?
Answer: Sweating It is important to keep incisions clean, but with regular care normal perspiration shouldn't lead to infection. There is a chance that some skin irritation or rash could occur with excessive sweating. This is typically well controlled with minor home treatment. I encourage you to speak to your surgeon about your concerns. It is important to feel comfortable and confident as you prepare for surgery.

Answer: Mommy makeover Hello and thank you for your question. This is a very reasonable concern although not a significant factor in the post-operative recovery as your your surgeon will most likely ensure that your incisions will remain adequately protected an isolated during the early post-operative period. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Fellowship-trained plastic surgeon.

Answer: Mommy Makeover Recovery I appreciate your concerns, however after a few days recovery from surgery, your incisions should be sealed adequately to prevent contamination from sweating while wearing your elastic garment. I counsel my mommy makeover patients to avoid strenuous activity and heavy lifting for several weeks after surgery but do encourage them to walk quietly as early as the day after surgery to prevent blood clots in the legs. If it appears that the weather will be warm early in your postoperative recovery, you can cover the incisions with bandages before putting on your elastic garment. Discuss all concerns regarding your postoperative recovery with your board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: Wearing fajas after a BBL and breast augmentation, could sweating while wearing garments cause infection? Sweating will not necessarily cause an infection but can cause a heat rash and discomfort. It is best to talk to your PS about ways to make the summer recover more tolerable.
