My gold crown that was only on for a few weeks just fell out. When holding it up to the light, there is a hole in it. When I showed it to the dentist he just glued it back in. Is that ok?
Answer: Replace Sometimes crowns can be repaired but if that's not possible I would advise replacing the crown with a new crown. As there is a hole, there is an increased chance of bacteria entering which can cause decay to your tooth and lead to more problems down the line.

Answer: It has to be renewed Hello. When the crown is produced higer than normal, sometimes dentists make minor adjustments on occlusal surfaces. But if the crown is thin due to production or insufficient space between opposing tooth, that occlusal adjustments may cause such holes. In that circumstance, the crown should be renewed and sometimes additionally interocclusal space should be increased on that area. Because the cement which was used in fixing the crown will resorb by time.Such a situation may cause recurring decementation of crown or decay of the tooth underneath
