It is certainly safe for it to be done in the bikini area including the labia, and on the buttocks, even the perianal area. Be sure to go to an experienced provider as inappropriate settings could cause unwanted side effects such as burn/blistering. This would be quite rare with an experienced operator.Lisa Vuich, MD
