I recently got a chip in my tooth and my dentist mentioned it but they said that they would take care of it when I'm getting braces but I don't think I'm getting braces any time soon.

The chip on you front tooth from the blurry picture shows the chip to be very small, there is no need to be scared.  I would recommend a visit to your dentist to have it assessed fully. The treatment can be as simple as smoothing it down, sometimes a small filling may be required. You may experience sensitivity on that tooth if left with risk of further tooth breaking away.
