How can I get rid of this horrible lip liner tattoo and correct my thin lips? (photos)

Question

I've had it for 8 years. My lips are awful too, but the tattoo...yikes! I think I might get filler in my lips, especially the bottom lip, but I don't want to lose the shape of my lips. The inks used were natural based, with pink, anti-blue drops, red, and white. I don't think any other color was added. How can I have it removed and what would the approx. cost be? Will removal scar? I'd rather have this ridiculous tattoo than a scar. :(

I recommend that a test spot be used with low fluence to see the outcome. It is only then that you can decide on what to do next, whether you want more sessions or not. The colors are quite light and laser energy is best absorbed by dark colors, just light light is reflected off white cars and absorbed by black cars, making it unbearable to sit in a black car seats on a hot summer day in Arizona or Las Vegas. Laser Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) is a measure frequently reported in units of (peak) Fluence or (peak) Power Density. Laser fluence is a measure used to describe the energy delivered per unit (or effective) area. Laser fluence is measured in units of Within the community of laser scientists and technicians it is very common to describe fluence in units of Joules per cm2 spot size.

Thank
you for your clinical post. This type of lip liner needs a test spot with a very short pulse duration
tattoo removal laser, such as the PicoSure®. 
The PicoSure® has such a very short pulse duration that the clinical
effect on the tattoo is more mechanical than thermal and the risks of
hypopigmentation or pigment abnormalities are low.  In addition, it is important that you ensure
that the pigmentation ink does not oxidize during treatment and lead to further
deformity and an unsightly appearance.

With
a little diligence and careful care and with a laser physician with lots of
experience in multiple wavelengths, this tattooing can be improved.  In general, a Pico second pulse duration,
with a wavelength of 532 nanometers, might be optimal for this colour of
pigment.
