Since there is inflammation in LPP & FFA, do inflammatory foods like fats and sugars make these conditions worse and/or keep these hair loss conditions active? Thank you.
Answer: Understanding Hair Changes & loss-- hair transplant, prp and progesterone Currently, there is no scientific evidence that this will make hair loss worse. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Sugars and fats in LPP It is an interesting question. Patients with LPP have an increased risk of hyper cholesterolemia. However web don't have any good evidence yet that diet has a significant impact on the disease itself. Many patients have tried a variety of anti inflammatory diets without benefit to their scalp disease. I would not be surprised if it had some benefit - but the key question is whether this translates into an actual clinically meaniful benefit.
