Can either Dermabrasion or CO2 Laser Resurfacing reduce the thickness of nasal skin?

I had a rhinoplasty over a year ago and was very happy with the results. A few months ago, I underwent IPL treatment for redness in the nose and cheeks (rosacea), and since then I noticed my skin is oilier and thicker (especially at the tip but also on the bridge) than it was before even though i only did 2 treatments. Can either dermabrasion or CO2 laser resurfacing reduce nasal thickness? I'll always have thick oily skin but at the moment it's "too much" and am looking for improvement. Thanks

Without looking at your photos it is hard to say what would be best in your case. Dermabrasion is very effective at thinning skin however it can also create severe scarring in cases where the treatment goes too deep. It should only be done by someone who knows what they are doing and has experience in this area.Good luck and I hope this helps

The laser is an excellent method to reduce the thickness of hypersebaceous skin of the nose.  Photos would be helpful.

Yes, in cases of thick/ oily/ sebaceous skin either dermabrasion or CO2 laser resurfacing can be very helpful to thin and contour the skin after rhinoplasty. I typically avoid trying to thin the skin during rhinoplasty surgery as this can compromise the blood supply to the skin. Dermabrasion of the nose can greatly improve thick nasal skin.  We use this in conjunction with Rhinoplasty in some cases for people with thick bulbous tip noses.  Consult with your Plastic Surgeon to discuss your options and expectations.
