Is There Any Benefit to Using Glycolic Acid in the Morning and Retinol at Night? Or Should I Just Stick to One or the Other?

I would like to reap the benefits of both, and I understand that if I use Glytone (an AHA it is?) in the morning, and then Retinol at night, they will both work... but I see my skin looking bad... (it's only been a couple days since starting the Retinol though)... is this worth it? Would I really see a benefit of both?
