Are There Alternative to Bite Blockers?

Question

I had my braces put on yesterday. The braces are fine but the bite blockers are very irritating and causes me not to eat. I do not want to wait until they "go down" from eating because I don't know how long I will have these blockers due to my treatment needs. Is there an alternative? It is already tough for a person to go through the treatment and to have to worry about eating is just another stress factor.

We use them when the bite would interfere with closing because of the braces. THe oly alternative is to pur the brackets on the top first and wait and do the lower later. You can have a removable appliance on the lower in the mean time that starts to get the job done. This invariably takes more time and costs more money
