    Smart lipo is surgery and involves the use of a cannula to remove fat.  There are a great number of doctors who have not had the training who are performing the procedure.  In addition, other individuals may offer this as well.  Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of liposuction procedures each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.  Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Smart-Lipo is a surgical procedure that involves laser and liposuction. This is best done by a board-certified plastic surgeon who is trained and experienced in doing the procedure. Most states allow only physicians (MD orDO) to legally do this procedure. Since it is surgery, I do recommend finding a competent surgeon to do this procedure. Plastic surgeons are trained to do liposuction during their 2-3 year residency training.
