Does i-Lipo have serious side effects like PAH?

Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) is a rare but documented side effect associated specifically with cryolipolysis procedures, such as CoolSculpting, where fat cells are exposed to controlled cooling. i-Lipo, or low-level laser therapy (LLLT), uses a completely different mechanism — it employs low-level laser light to temporarily disrupt fat cell membranes, allowing stored fat to be released and metabolized.

There are no reports linking i-Lipo or similar low-level laser devices to PAH, as they do not involve freezing fat cells. Side effects with i-Lipo are generally mild, such as temporary redness, warmth, or slight swelling in the treated area, but serious complications like PAH are not a known risk with this technology.

I was the first Plastic Surgeon in the US to be using I-Lipo and you may have seen the episode of coverage on the Dr Oz show. The laser light emitted by the device stimulates release of fatty acids into the bloodstream while using the fatty acid as the source of energy. In the process, the fat cells simply become slightly smaller but the effect is completely temporary. As soon as you consume, sugary or carbohydrate, products or fatty products, if that cells will reinflate with fat once again. The device results in a short term narrowing of the waistline as an example. So if you wanted to look slimmer for a party tonight, you get the Treatment a few hours earlier. The device will not cause any aberrant issues such as paradoxical enlargement and fatty tissue. You did waste your money, but no. Harm will come to you.
