While tattooing over the skin is possible, it may not be recommended. Due to the buildup of scar tissue on the skin and underneath the skin, the ink may not disperse evenly. Additionally, the tattoo will be extremely difficult to remove if you decide to pursue any further laser treatments. Alternatively, you can consider placing the art on a different area on your body, or if you are unsatisfied with the scarring on the body, you can consider scar therapy. Going forward, I would discuss this with a tattoo artist that is comfortable tattooing over laser-treated skin.
