I have two purple tattoos that I want to remove. I’ve read that purple ink does not respond well to laser since it contains metals. I am just concerned about the scarring that would occur after the excision. Would it be possible for a surgeon to excise these two tattoos with minimal scarring?

This is sometimes an inflammatory reaction or sarcoidal reaction. this needs biopsy to determine if that is true. if it is only pulsed dye laser and steroid injections can help. some people would add fraxel and more pico or q switch. Best, Dr. Emer.
