Hi,Most patients will experience a bloating sensation, "gas pains," and nausea for at least the first 3 days, and sometimes up to 2 weeks after the Orbera balloon is placed. It's incredibly variable between patients and we cannot fully predict who will experience what. But what you are experiencing is completely normal. The balloon tends to sit at the bottom of the stomach and can slow stomach emptying, which causes some of the bloating sensation. Also, your stomach thinks the balloon is food at first, and is essentially trying to digest it. Of course, it can't. But this causes a crampy/bloated sensation. All of this will settle down very soon. For mild symptoms, I recommend simple measures like Gas-X and peppermint tea (very good for cramping). Thanks for the question!
Thank you for your question. In general the sensation of bloating goes away or improves after the first week. Watch your diet, increase water intake and that should help. Good choice on the balloon and wish you best results
