I always had slight symmastia before my breast reduction and I was told a breast reduction would improve it however it's made it worse my boobs look worse like a uniboob and no cleavage any advise on how to fix this?
Answer: How can I fix symmastia after breast reduction? Fixing symmastia, commonly known as “uniboob” or “breadloafing”, after a breast reduction typically requires surgical correction. Symmastia occurs when the breast tissue fuses in the center, causing a loss of separation between the breasts. It is important to allow your breasts to heal after your breast reduction procedure before considering another procedure, here are the steps to address this issue:1. Consult a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon: Seek a consultation with a skilled plastic surgeon experienced in breast surgeries. They can evaluate your specific situation and discuss your options.2. Surgical Correction: Symmastia correction usually involves surgery. The surgeon may need to reposition or tighten the breast tissue, creating a clear separation between the breasts. In some cases, an implant may be used to support the breast tissue and maintain the separation.3. Individualized Treatment Plan: Your surgeon will create a customized treatment plan based on your unique anatomy and the severity of the symmastia. They will explain the surgical techniques and potential outcomes. 4. Preoperative Preparation: Before the surgery, you’ll need to follow any preoperative instructions provided by your surgeon, which may include lifestyle changes, medications, and avoiding certain activities.5. Postoperative Care: After the surgery, you’ll need to follow the postoperative care instructions carefully. This includes proper wound care, wearing compression garments, and attending follow-up appointments with your surgeon. 6. Recovery: Recovery time varies but generally involves a period of rest and limited physical activity. Your surgeon will provide guidance on when you can resume normal activities. 7. Long-Term Results: Be patient with the healing process, as it can take several months for the final results to become apparent. You should also maintain a stable weight and follow your surgeon’s advice to ensure the best long-term outcome. It’s important to choose a highly skilled and experienced plastic surgeon for this procedure, as correcting symmastia can be complex, and the outcome depends on the surgeon’s expertise. Always have a thorough discussion with your surgeon to understand the potential risks and benefits of the procedure before making a decision.
