Should I get a upper second molar implant? (Photo)

Question

I am 19 years old and had a root canal on my upper second molar a few years back. Eventually everything broke off above the gum line. Should I get it replaced? Would the dental implant be worth it? Also wondering if I should get it done as it might interfere with my possible jaw growth.

yes, it is recommended to go for implant for second molar . infect it will prevent over eruption of opposing arch tooth, thats why go for implant as soon as possible.

Many patients feel that they can function very well with teeth up to the first molar, rather than second molar, and studies indicate this too. However I have seen many patients that feel a real difference when they lack a second molar. It's something for you to decide on, and also considering potential unwanted eruption of the opposing tooth if this tooth is not replaced. Being young, if I was in your shoes, I would certainly lean towards having an implant.

I always leave 2nd molar replacement up to the patient. Some patients find they have plenty of chewing area without the 2nd molar and don't even realize it is missing. Some people really want their full dentition and get an implant. Ultimately, the decision is yours. If you're considering an implant, get it sooner rather than later. The longer you wait to get an implant after tooth removal, the more likely you will need additional bone grafting.
