Surgeon suggested muscle suspension for my lip lift, wouldn't that alter mouth movements?

Resection of the muscle is part of lip lift procedure, very frequently. It has certain benefits over skin excision only; different modalities of muscle suspencion can be used to improve appearance of nasal base and perinasal area. I have been doing lip lifts since 1994 and have exclusively transitioned from a skin only, superficial approach to a deep tension support one by securing the muscle layer to the lining of the bone flanking the nose. By diverting tension from the superficial skin layer to the deeper muscle layer and bone, scarring is vastly improved, any nostril pull-down is minimized and the results are the best in terms of longevity and esthetics.

Recently, I have evolved this concept ( known as the OOS upper lip lift) into the 3D upper lip lift in which I define the superficial and deep layer of that same muscle and separately attach them to the lining of the bone for a more nuanced and natural look, aiming to replicate the actual youthful contours of the upper lip such as the Philtral columns and dimples as well as the white roll of the vermillion border.
