Subcision & Filler, Permanent?

Question

I have a 1 1/2" flat vertical scar on my left cheek, & am interested in subcision with Restylane. However, while one plastic surgeon said that this will be permanent - scar will float up & heal while Restylane cushions so it won't redepress, so when Restylane dissolves scar will be permanently in place - a couple of other dermatologists have said that repeated Restylane injections will be neccessary. Please advise. Thank you.

the restylane is only a temporary solution and will resorb with time. you will probably benefit from a tissue rearrangement with fat to permanently fill the depression

Subcision is often very helpful to release tethering of the scar. However, Restylane is a temporary filler. It is likely that subcision with Restylane will provide some permanent improvement but some of the correction will undoubtedly diminish as the Restylane is reabsorbed over about nine months.
