Fat graft - use old fat for touch up?

Thank you for posting your question. After a fat transfer procedure, it takes several months for your body to readjust and settle into its new shape. On average, half of the transferred fat will be reabsorbed. Given these facts, I would recommend not doing any touch up until at least one year post op. Additionally, transferred fat must be obtained from yourself and used THE DAY OF the procedure. Therefore, if you do decide to undergo more procedure, you must make sure you still have enough excess fat for your desired result. Best of luck.

Fat transfer needs to be freshly obtained fat and properly prepared and processed to make sure it has the best opportunity to take and stay.Fat can not and should not be stored for later use. There are many issues that have to be met to store tissue for later use. Infection, making sure you receive your own tissue and not mistakenly another person's are just few concerns. If you store tissue for later use then you become a blood bank with all the regulations.
