Chipped front teeth are a common occurrence with adolescent children as the permanent (adult) maxillary central incisors (the upper two front teeth) are often large and prominent in the developing dental arch. Until 12-13 years old when the other primary (baby) teeth are shed and the arch expands, the two front teeth can even appear abnormally large in comparison to adjacent teeth and are "sitting ducks" in an accidental injury or fall. Cosmetic bonding with composite resin is often the best restorative choice to repair a fractured incisal edge (chipped corner). If the bonding came off in one day, it could be a bite interference or poor bonding technique. Above all, make sure you find a competent cosmetic dentist!
