I am only in my 20s and my gums are starting to recede. What can I do?

My dentist told me I don't have any gum disease and it is probably from aggressively brushing. I have started using an electronic tooth brush and oil pulling. I also ordered "Natures Smile" paste which claims to reverse receding gums. My dentist told me gums do not grow back...is this true? I want to keep my healthy smile, I'm desperate.

There are several reasons for gum Recession; -Genetics ( having thin gum)-aggressive brushing-smoking-orthodontic treatment -clenching and Grinding -periodontal disease it is good that you have started using an Electric tooth brush. However, when not used properly, you can still get recession.  Make sure it is soft, and make sure you dont move it around or put pressure on the gum to my knowledge, there is no magic tooth paste/ mouth rinse that could reverse the gingival recession! Oil pulling wont reverse it either To treat the gum recession that you already have and to stop further recession and bone loss, you will need to see a periodontist. If recession is left untreated, it will worsen , will lead to more bone loss. At some point surhical correction will no longer be possible your dentist can make this referralgood luck
