I'm having pain all the time in the left shoulder after having lap band surgery. Are they related?

The pain is all the time. Specially after eating and drinking. I had my surgery in Dec 2018. What is causing my pain.

Constant shoulder pain that is more noticeable after eating or drinking  and a gastric band patient it's probably the band,    the easiest way of knowing is by deflating the band temporarily  and evaluate with a  barium swallow, this will rule out band position problems or if the band is simply to tight, after removing fluid from the band   symptoms should improve quickly.

Hello, Im sorry to hear you are struggling with this issue. Shoulder discomfort following an abdominal procedure is common. This is due to irritation of the phrenic nerve which innervates your diaphram. However, it is expected for this pain to resolve withing the first few days following surgery. I would recommend you follow up this issue with your bariatric team.
