Wondering if septoplasty would improve breathing out of my right nostril or if my turbinates are too hypertrophic to make a difference? Or maybe no bad enough to make a difference at all?

I agree with you. There should be very little swelling at 6 months after a septoplasty. I don't want to sound rude, but are you sure that's all that was performed? Your swelling and change in appearance (I assume the pics are before/after) is unusual after a septoplasty alone.
You do have a crooked nose and probably a crooked septum as well. Cosmetically you soonest to be a good candidate for rhinoplasty and your breathing can be improved at the same time. Your nose can be straightened but there is always a risk of some residual crookedness
Based on the photos alone, it is difficult to tell what exactly you are referring to. A physical exam and consultation are needed. When looking at your photos, I do not see anything alarming or concerning at first glance. Your columella appears short and could be elongated, but I am unsure,...
