I have kp pretty bad on my upper arms and makes me very self conscious. Will laser hair removal get rid of the kp or at least make it better? Are there any other solutions for kp? I'm pretty desperate and willing to spend a good chunk of money to get rid of those bumps!

I normally ask patients to not pluck for 2-4 weeks. 4 weeks is optimal, but most people can't stand it for more than 2 weeks. I think 3 weeks should be okay. Ask your doctor who is doing the treatment. Good luck.
Vaniqa is a cream that works by blocking a specific enzyme in hair growth pathway. It's approved for the use for unwanted facial hair in women, and our patients have had some good success with it. We often suggest it in combination with laser hair reduction.

In our office we instruct patients to make sure the area has had no sun exposure for one month prior and one month after the laser procedure. If any tan is present the treatment should be delayed until the tan has faded.
