Fraxel dual - can use both 1927 and 1550 on same area in same tx session ?

Question

Had fraxel restore (1550nm) done today settings were 30/4 with what it seemed like 2 passes over most areas although the machine setting said 8 prior to the treatment starting. I initially came in to have both 1550 and 1927 (dual) but she said this wasnt possible that only one laser could be used per area so for example 1927 on the forehead and 1550 on the cheeks. Is this correct? If both are done in same area should settings be lowered slightly for both? Thanks!

The Fraxel Dual is a fabulous laser with two different wavelengths for treating pigmentation and wrinkles.  The 1927 wavelength is used primarily for pigmentation and the 1550 for acne scars and wrinkles.  Some doctors do combine both wavelengths during the same treatment.  Caution must be advised as this combination requires lowering the energy used on both settings.  For the best results please consult a board certified dermatologist with a great deal of experience with the Fraxel laser.
