I am thinking of having Smart Lipo done for my lower abs and thighs. I will meet with a doctor next week. What kind of questions should I ask the doctor to determine how qualified he is and if he is right for me? Thanks so much!

The most important question to ask is how long the surgeon was doing lipo before he/she purchased the smart lipo machine. If they had no experience in liposuction prior to getting the machine, the odds are high that they have very limited body contouring skills and that you will experience suboptimal results. I see many patients who come for complete body contouring after being disappointed elsewhere by incompletely done work. It takes experience to produce consistent excellent results in liposuction regardless of the technique used.

You definitely want to know how many cases he or she has done. Where did they have training? Are they using any other form of liposuction along with Smart Lipo? Does he or she feel that this procedure will address my concern? Do they have any before and after pictures of their own work? Does the cost include follow up visits? If a touch up is needed, what would the cost be?
