however no matter what you do, your scarring will not go away completely with any type of treatment. it is very, very important that you aim for an improvement (and not 90%) in your acne scarring and not the complete elimination of the scarring, otherwise you are going to be disappointed.

If your clinic can give you a written guarantee that Pico can treat this fibrotic and tethered scar, by all means try it. you need to be realistic with your expectations. the Picosure is a great laser and we have had very good results with it. When it is used for melasma and hyperpigmentation frequently 3 sessions each spaced a month apart, is enough sessions. However, everyone is different. my wife needed 4 sessions. Acne scarring is more difficult because the Picosure is stimulating new collagen formation. I think you should mentally plan 6 sessions. we often times alternate these sessions, every two weeks with microneedling to try and combine 2 different modalities. however no matter what you do, your scarring will not go away completely with any type of treatment. it is very, very important that you aim for an improvement (and not 90%) in your acne scarring and not the complete elimination of the scarring, otherwise you are going to be disappointed.we wish we could make the scarring disappear too. however the Picosure laser is the best laser available to help with scarring.david berman md
